Hi, I’m Angel.
I’m an educator with over 20 years of teaching experience. I’ve taught science, research writing, and even created a university course on Activism and Environmental Justice. In every class, I help students learn how to analyze information, build strong arguments, and use their voice to advocate for what’s right.
Turns out, I needed to do the same thing in court.
Long story short: My siblings and I were disinherited. One brother was named the sole beneficiary. We didn’t have the money to hire a lawyer, so we had no choice but to represent ourselves.
And what I discovered was this: there was nothing out there to help people like us. No step-by-step guides. No plain-English explanations. Just a maze of legal procedures that assumed you had a law degree.
Don’t get me wrong — the information is out there. I found it. But it’s scattered across countless websites, statutes, and case law, buried under jargon, and nearly impossible for most people to piece together on their own.
So I did what I teach my students to do. I researched. I wrote. I built our case. And I figured it out.
Now, I want to show others the way.
I created Pro Per Probate and wrote the first volume on how to file a petition to share the roadmap I wish we’d had — so that other families, especially those shut out or priced out of justice, can find their footing. Whether you’re just starting to understand probate or already deep in the process, I’m here to help you feel less lost, less overwhelmed, and more prepared to stand up for what’s right.
Because you don’t need a law degree to fight for justice.
You just need knowledge, strategy, and the courage to begin.
And if you’re feeling overwhelmed, angry, or shut out — I’ve been there.
You’re not alone anymore.
